About The Book

Building Trust, Respect, Genuineness, Transparency & Vulnerability

In The Heart-Centered Leader, you are invited to reimagine what leadership can look like when we replace fear with trust and performance pressure with purpose.
Drawing on decades in executive roles—and lived experiences as a single parent, survivor of toxic workplaces, and advocate for psychological safety—Jane explores how the most effective leaders lead from within.
This is not a textbook. It’s a conversation between hard-won wisdom and practical action. Through personal stories, reflective exercises, and frameworks tested in the real world, The Heart-Centered Leader helps you:
“Leadership isn’t about being the loudest voice in the room—it’s about being the most human.”
Whether you’re a seasoned executive, an emerging leader, or someone who’s experienced the cost of toxic leadership firsthand, this book will meet you where you are and help you lead from where it matters most: the heart.

About The Book

Why I Wrote This Book

For most of my career, I’ve worked in environments where the stakes were high: education, not-for-profits, and government. In these spaces, I’ve seen the very best—and the very worst—of leadership.
Early in my career, as a young single parent, I worked under toxic leadership where compassion was absent and fear was the currency of control. I wasn’t seen as a whole person—just as output. That experience stayed with me and shaped the leader I would become.
The Heart-Centered Leader was born from those experiences. It isn’t another theory to file away—it’s a call to lead differently. A reminder that leadership is about courage, compassion, and connection, especially when it feels most uncomfortable.
